We keep saying it, but tomorrow is a huge game for Leeds United.
Win and we could open some real daylight between us and the bottom three.
Draw and it remains as you were, depending on how Newcastle and Burnley do on Saturday, and means we are actually on a run of only one defeat in four league games.
Lose and we’re in the shit. That might sound blunt, but if we get beat at Norwich we are dragged right into the mire and will be in a real relegation scrap.
Let’s get one thing straight as well, Norwich might not have won a game yet, but they’re not a bunch of no hopers. No Premier League team is that bad, but…they have lost seven games already, didn’t pick up their first point until October, and got beat seven at Chelsea last time out.
I’ve seen all the debates about them being the worst Premier League team ever, but believe me, after getting thumped at Chelsea last week they’ll be looking at this weekend as an opportunity of their own against a team with their own struggles.
We go past the quarter point of the season on Sunday and we have that December from hell on the horizon so it’s vital we get a result, get some breathing space and just try and find some momentum to take us into the New Year when the transfer window re-opens.
We’ll have Kalvin back tomorrow which will be a massive, massive boost, but some of the other issues, partial fixes, and gaping holes will still be there, and we have to improve. You all know my thoughts on Joe Geldhardt and how I would start him from the off.
Carrow Road wasn’t a ground I played at much as a player, but they’re a partisan support down there and our fans will be tucked away towards one corner. As always, everyone going down there will have a part to play.
Let’s hope we can get that win.
